If you follow me on LinkedIn, you’ll have seen I’ve just celebrated my first work anniversary at KAT. And what a year it has been! After working as a journalist for close to 20 years and the editor of Essex Life magazine for 15 of those years, I decided that 2021 was the time for a change.
I knew the team at KAT by their excellent reputation among the local press and publicity industry, so when the chance came to join them as their new Content Manager, it didn’t take long to decide on my future.
As well as looking after KAT’s own content, an example of which you are reading now, my role at KAT is to ensure the highest level of quality in the content we provide for our clients. From blogs and social posts to website pages and press releases, I work alongside the KAT team to create the best copy to engage audiences.
What I’ve loved about my time at KAT, however, is that the job never ends there. Everyone at KAT plays their part wherever and whenever it's needed, which has given me the chance to learn and expand my skills in digital marketing, event management as well as traditional and digital design – among many other things.
Whether it’s been selling teddy bears for the NSPCC in Colchester town centre or organising a life-sized elephant design for a bus livery, there’s always a new challenge around the corner and always new experiences to add to your resume.
It’s been a time of change in my home life too, moving house and adding a third child to my family recently. It’s all made for an exciting first year at KAT and the KAT team has loved welcoming a new ‘kitten’ into the KAT family!
Looking ahead, it’s great to be a part of KAT’s Future15 celebration and already the next 12 months has projects planned such as story-telling festivals, wedding venue launches and a fun-filled, app-based trail for Halloween, along with so much more. Follow #Future15 to make sure you don’t miss any of it.
