Two Words for 2022 – You’re Hired!

12 Jan 2022

With a new year well and truly underway, and The Apprentice back on our screens, there’s one iconic line stuck in our heads during the first quarter of 2022 – ‘you’re hired’!

If one of your resolutions for business this year is to expand your team, and welcome in some fresh talent, then it’s time to start planning and implementing a recruitment campaign that will have the right people lining up, ready to work for you. But what does a successful campaign consist of?

Copy and Comms

First and foremost, a job description that contains an overview of your company, information on the role available, what you are looking for and any benefits that come with working for your business is a must. It should be informative enough that what you are looking for is made clear, to help avoid applications from those who are not quite right for the role, but punchy enough to grab and keep the attention of your audience. Blogs andboth internal and external email newsletters are also ideal for spreading the word about vacancies.

Brand Personality

Potential applicants like to know what kind of company they are putting themselves forward to work for. Make sure to reflect personality through your content and website, and it will help attract like-minded people that will fit in with your existing team and company culture. Invest in creating video content of your current team members speaking about their role at the company, and what they enjoy about working for you, to showcase successful employee engagement – candidates want to see the faces behind the brand!

Digital

Ensure your website is up to date with any job opportunities you are actively hiring for. Many sites will have a link, labelled with something along the lines of ‘Careers’ or ‘Work with Us’, within their footer or meganav. Ensure your site has good SEO to help boost your rankings when potential candidates search for companies and vacancies within your industry.

Social

Both organic and paid social posts are great ways to advertise vacancies within your business. One of the most effective platforms when it comes to recruitment being LinkedIn – when advertising job vacancies using their board, the platform helps to filter out candidates with the most relevant qualifications, experience and other attributes related to the information and description you give, doing a lot of the hard work for you. As well as creating job listings, LinkedIn is great for networking and reaching out to individuals who you think would be a great fit for your company.
