It’s wonderful to celebrate success, to have the opportunity to shine a light on businesses and organisations which have gone above and beyond the call of duty to make a difference to their communities.
We at KAT Marketing were delighted to yet again sponsor one of the categories at the Tendring4Growth awards which marked an end of a fantastic 2025 Business Fortnight.
The fortnight was an initiative led by Tendring District Council to champion local enterprise and bring together business owners, community leaders, creatives and entrepreneurs. Over the fortnight, business were offered support, training and information on how to access grants and loans to help their businesses to grow. But the culmination of the event was the awards ceremony where good practices, innovation and enthusiasm were recognised.
It was more than apt for KAT Marketing to sponsor the Commitment to the Community section of the awards as community is, after all, at the heart of everything we do. There were so many worthy nominations for the award but the one which shone most brightly was Sandy’s Farm. This working farm also serves as an animal rescue centre, a calm and inspirational place which also offers opportunities for educational placements and volunteering. The farm stretches beyond its boundaries to make a real difference to many people’s lives.
The awards also honoured the Retailer, Tradesperson and Young Businessperson of the Year. But other categories were for Creative Champion, Environmental Impact, Health and Wellbeing Champion and Team of the Year.
The importance of these categories is that business is not just about the bottom line. Of course, profits are important - our jobs and salaries depend on them. But there is more to industry than just making money. It is also about being creative, thoughtful, inspirational. And it is about building a better future based on the foundations of sound and ethical principles.
The awards ceremony, held at the Princes Theatre in Clacton, sparkled. Business and community leaders congratulated each other on their achievements and their vision. There was a feelgood factor which comes from unity.
The awards evening demonstrated that successful businesses do not work in isolation. Great businesses contribute to a community which stands or falls together and which can benefit us all.
